Well, DC was a blast! I managed to get several full nights sleep, saw the sights (not as thoroughly as I would like, but he, what do you expect with a whirlwind trip?) and ran a marathon. While I missed my boys so much, it was so nice to be free for 4 days!!!!

And now I am getting some rest (and feeling guilty for it) and hopefully making sure my achilles heals before the next race! And back into the garden and dealing with critters.
Congrats on the marathon. I love the photo with the marines, and love how none of them are smiling! LOL. So serious!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! Love those big smiles! Do they still have that hill at about mile 26? MCM was my first marathon in '97 and I have many fond memories of it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mimi! I was highly disappointed, there was not a single Marine who yelled at me to get my A$$ in gear or anything. They were all very nice and sweet. Man, I was hoping someone would make me run!
ReplyDeleteVillager - That hill is still there, but at that point you have to just GO, I mean.... I could see the finish line! I pulled my girlfriend up the hill and over the line, no way was she walking with everyone watching. What a great race, on my list of things to do again. Chicago next year... and maybe Flying Pig....!
